Taylor Tuck to join Illini

CHAMPAIGN -- Bolingbrook junior Taylor Tuck has made an oral commitment to play for Jolette Law's Illini basketball team.

Tuck averaged 4.9 points and 3.6 rebounds for the talent-rich Raiders, who have won the last two Class 4A state titles. Tuck is rated 152nd nationally in the junior class by Blue Star. A 6-foot forward, she had 18 points and 14 rebounds in Bolingbrook's two state tourney victories.

She also considered Clemson and Princeton.

Tuck has two teammates who are rated among the nation's best. Her sister Morgan, a sophomore, was Illinois' 2009 Ms. Basketball. Morgan Tuck is rated as the country's No. 5 sophomore by Blue Star. Point guard Ariel Massengale is ranked No. 6 nationally in the junior class by Blue Star. Morgan Tuck and Massengale both have long held UI scholarship offers.

Taylor Tuck is the first member of the Class of 2011 to commit to Illinois.

Sounds like a typical Theresa Grentz recruit. Recruit a player who only averages 4.9 points a game.BUT SHE HAS A GREAT PERSONALITY.And she is rated 152nd best in the Junior class after averaging 4.9 points a game?

There must be a lot of pathetic female baskerball players in the country if there is only 151 players better than her.

Maybe she and Morgan are a package deal. The only reason she was recruited was to have her sister and Masengale also join the Illini.

Taylor Tuck is a great addition for the Illini. One of the reasons she only averages 4.9 is that Bolingbrook is LOADED with talent and they don't have to pad individual stats. She could easily average a double/double. She will be a good fit with the Illini women and hopefully she can convince some of her teamates to join her in Champaign and help turn the Illini program into a winner!

It would be nice to see Taylor joined on the Illini by her teammates Ariel Massengale and Morgan Tuck (sister). Then they could continue their domination and championships on the college level together.
