Illini volleyball loses in Sweet 16

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- The No. 8 Illini volleyball team saw its season come to an end Friday night with a four-set loss to No. 3 Hawaii in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.
The 12th-seeded Rainbow Wahine defeated fifth-seeded Illinois 21-25, 25-10, 27-25, 25-16. The Illini finished with a 26-5 record. Hawaii (31-2) will play the winner of Friday's late match between Stanford and Michigan at 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
