Big Ten honors DeBruler

PARK RIDGE — Laura DeBruler was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week in volleyball on Monday after leading Illinois to victories against Michigan and Michigan State last weekend at Huff Hall.

The junior outside hitter averaged 5.1 kills per set on .367 hitting. She also contributed 2.6 digs and 0.7 blocks per set as the Illini extended their winning streak to 11 matches.

DeBruler had 21 kills and hit .283 in a four-set win against Michigan on Friday. One night later, she finished with 15 kills and hit .538 in a three-set sweep of Michigan State.
