Block party paces road volleyball win

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Don Hardin’s 16th-ranked Illinois volleyball team improved to 6-2 on the road this season with a 25-15, 22-25, 25-21, 25-22 victory against No. 18 Purdue.
Kylie McCulley had 18 kills and Laura DeBruler had 17, including seven in the fourth set. Michelle Bartsch added 14 kills.
The Illini pulled away in the third set thanks to five blocks — they had 11 on the night. Johannah Bangert, the nation’s leading blocker, had nine block assists.
