UI volleyball gains recruit

Shadia Haddad, a 6-foot middle blocker from St. Ursula Academy in Cincinnati, has orally committed to the University of Illinois volleyball team.
A four-year varsity member and three-year starter, Haddad said this morning she selected the Illini over Penn State and Ohio State.
Haddad was named second-team All-Ohio and first-team all-district as a junior. In 1996, she earned second-team All-America honors in club volleyball.
