Buford-Bailey earns international spot

CHAMPAIGN — Illinois women’s track and field coach Tonja Buford-Bailey will serve as an assistant coach for Team USA at the IAAF World Outdoor Championships next month in Germany.
Buford-Bailey will assist head coach Chandra Cheeseborough as the sprints/hurdles coach at the championships, scheduled Aug. 15-23.
The World Championships will mark the second international competition for Buford-Bailey as a coach. She also coached sprinters and hurdlers at the 2007 Pan American Junior meet.
