Nevolo, men's tennis dumps Northwestern

CHAMPAIGN – Dennis Nevolo, Abe Souza and Stephen Hoh posted singles wins as No. 12 Illinois defeated Northwestern 4-1 on Saturday, the Illini's 18th straight victory against the Wildcats.
Nevolo won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles against Spencer Wolf. Souza was a 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 victor at No. 2, while Hoh cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 5.
Hoh joined Marek Czerwinski for a 9-8 victory at No. 1 doubles, which helped the Illini secure the doubles point. Nevolo and Johnny Hamui were 8-3 winners at No. 2. Souza and Connor Roth were beaten 8-1 at No. 3.
Roth lost a three-set match at No. 6 singles.
Illinois improved to 7-5, 1-0 in the Big Ten. No. 34 Northwestern is 7-4, 0-1.
