Fudge, Finnegan earn ITA bids

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Illinois' Megan Fudge and Leigh Finnegan will begin singles play today in the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships after earning automatic bids to the tournament.

In pre-qualifying on Saturday, the UI's Chelcie Abajian and Rachael White each went 1-1. They did not qualify for the main draw.

Abajian won a straight sets match before losing to Florida's Claire Bartlett 6-4, 6-1. White rallied for a three-set victory before losing in three sets to Duke's Monica Gorny. In doubles, Finnegan and White split four matches.
