Purdue stops UI women's team

Host Purdue outlasted Illinois 5-2 for a Big Ten women's tennis win Thursday.
The Illini won 2 of 3 singles matches that went three sets. Illinois freshman Carla Rosenberg defeated Purdue's Erika Quebe 1-6, 6-2, 6-4. Illini Megan Wise edged Shannon Taheny 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.
Illinois fell to 1-4 in the Big Ten and 5-10 overall.
