UI names new assistant swimming coach

Sue Novitsky has been named assistant coach of the University of Illinois women's swimming and diving team after serving as a volunteer assistant the past three years. Illini head coach Jim Lutz announced the appointment Monday.

"She already has three years experience with us and knows all the ins and outs of the team," Lutz said. "Sue works well with all the ladies on the squad and I'm very excited that we will continue to work together."

Novitsky was a two-time NCAA Division II All-American at Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., helping the Pioneers to a national championship in 1990.
