Troy Gentle's weekly update on the five players headed Bruce Weber's way and the two players headed Jolette Law's way:

MEN

TRACY ABRAMS (Mount Carmel) – Two late technical foul calls were Mount Carmel's undoing as it lost to Peoria Richwoods 65-55 in the championship of the Pekin Holiday Tournament. Abrams scored 15, but missed 12 of 18 shots. In the three games, Abrams averaged 14.7 points. Next up for the Caravan is Richards on Tuesday.

NNANNA EGWU (Chicago St. Ignatius) – After a first round loss to South Elgin last Saturday, the Wolfpack recovered to beat Wheaton St. Francis on Monday at the York Jack Tosh Tournament. Their run was short-lived, as they lost to Wheaton Warrensville South the next night. Loyola will be St. Ignatius' opponent next Friday.

MEYERS LEONARD (Robinson) – In the championship of the Effingham St. Anthony Bulldog Classic, Leonard was held to 12 points, but grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Robinson to a 64-54 victory against the hosts on Wednesday. On Jan. 8, they visit Olney.

JEREME RICHMOND (Waukegan) – After dropping 31 points on Danville on Tuesday, Richmond scored 21 of his 23 points in the second half as Waukegan rallied to beat Simeon 59-51 and win its first Pontiac Tournament title since 1966. He averaged 26.3 points and 14.7 rebounds over the three games. The Bulldogs visit Niles West on Jan. 8.

CRANDALL HEAD (Rich South) – injured.

WOMEN

ALEXIS BURKE (Bainbridge, Ga.) – Bainbridge suffered its first loss in the championship of the Thomasville Holiday Hoopfest last Wednesday. Burke led the Lady Cats (12-1) with 18 points. They return to action Thursday against Colquitt County.

CENTRESE MCGEE (Thorton Fractional North) – The Meteors lost to Lombard Montini 60-45 in the championship game of the Montini Christmas Tournament. McGee had 13 points and seven rebounds. The previous night, she had 14 points, six rebounds and five steals in a 48-42 upset of Bogan. On Saturday, they will participate in the City/Suburban Shootout.
