I've got Self winning coach, Rupp arena, Wall player and Dickey V.

What's a "Beat Player?"

HQ - Thanks for the head's up

Wenalway wrote on March 10, 2010 at 4:03 pm

I'd write in Kevin Harlan for announcer, simply because he was inexplicably omitted from the choices. If I have to pick from the list, I'll go with Gus Johnson.

I'll pick Dayton for the arena, Izzo as coach, and Evan Turner for the player.

rknowle2 wrote on March 10, 2010 at 4:03 pm

Gus Johnson in a WOW upset.

The PIT for arena, Jamie Dixon for coach, and Turner for player.

Wenalway wrote on March 10, 2010 at 6:03 pm

I have to give you props for those picks, z/zerocred. I thought about going with Pearl, but his team still has zero Final Four appearances.

I like Ben Jacobson in a coaching upset over at Northern Iowa. He does a great job with the way he gets his kids to play. Jon Scheyer no questions asked. The other Assembly Hall over in Bloomington. And our guy Stephen Bardo moving up the analyst ladder at an impressive rate.

Shulman, Rupp Arena, Self, Evan Turner. Does Dickey V. even qualify as an announcer? When is that blowhole going to call it quits?

jje1223 wrote on March 10, 2010 at 9:03 pm

Musburger for sure, one of the greatest announcers of our time. Going with the slight underdog, scottie reynolds, i saw him go off on Louisville a couple of months ago. Even though i hate duke i gotta give them the nod for Coach K and Cameron Indoor.

Watching tonight's Big East game is a reminder of the best crew around. McDonough, Bilas and Raftery are an extraordinary team. I'd love it if those three could call all meaningful NCAA games.

Buzzmaster wrote on March 11, 2010 at 12:03 pm

Musberger - Butler's Hinkle Fieldhouse - Bo Ryan -Patrick Patterson & Greivis Vasquez in a toss-up.

Mikeydamouth wrote on March 11, 2010 at 7:03 pm

Nance, Rupp Arena, Izzo, Turner......Nance is the best un-biased announcer. Rupp Arena is the best venue for a NC game, I'd take Izzo any day in a NC game, and Turner is the guy I would want with the ball in his hands with 1 second to go in that NC game.

jwhuber wrote on March 11, 2010 at 8:03 pm

If your going with "true" announcers and not color commetators I'd have to go with MUSBURGER. He has the special ability to be able to move from football to basketball and make both sound great. I've actually met Dave O'Brien (who isn't on this list), Raftery and Bilas at Mike Shannon's down in StL a few years ago before the braggin' rights game. What a bunch of great guys to hang with...

The PIT in New Mexico is a GREAT place to see a game!

KEVIN STALLINGS has done a phenominal job at Vandy this year.

Best player goes to TURNER. He can get his shot whenever he wants to, no matter who's guarding him.

jwhuber wrote on March 11, 2010 at 8:03 pm

illiniwoo--

Couldn't agree with you more on the Bilas/Raftery tandem....with one exception. How bout putting us Johnson with them. Now THAT would be a great game to listen to.

Vitale, Kohl Center, John Wall, and Bill Self.
