Troy Gentle's weekly update on the five players headed Bruce Weber's way and the two players headed Jolette Law's way:


MEN
TRACY ABRAMS (Mount Carmel) —
Down 55-54 with 3.9 seconds remaining, Abrams broke up an inbound pass, got the loose ball and made a layup as time expired to lead the Wolfpack to a 56-55 win against Bogan on Wednesday. He led all scorers with 20 points. Mount Carmel will face Simeon tonight for the LaGrange Lyons sectional championship.

NNANNA EGWU (Chicago St. Ignatius) — Scored 16 points in a 48-34 loss to Foreman for the regional championship last Friday. The Wolfpack finished 15-13.

MEYERS LEONARD (Robinson) — With Bruce Weber in attendance, Leonard punched his ticket for Peoria on Tuesday, scoring 21 points with eight rebounds and five blocked shots as Robinson beat St. Teresa 81-60. The Maroons will face Hales Franciscan at 8:15 p.m. today. He also will be defending his Class 2A King of the Hill championship.

JEREME RICHMOND (Waukegan) — Got off to a slow start in Tuesday’s sectional game against Stevenson, scoring two points in the first half. He finished with 12 points as the Bulldogs (24-4) rolled to a 68-52 win. Waukegan will face Schaumburg for the sectional championship tonight.

CRANDALL HEAD (Rich South) — Injured.

WOMEN
ALEXIS BURKE (Bainbridge, Ga.) — Season over.

CENTRESE McGEE (Thornton Fractional North) — Season over.

Troy neglects to point out that per the chicago paper's accounts Bogan had an inbound pass for Tracy to steal because Tracy had just made a turnover to give Bogan the ball. Love Tracy, no problem there, but makes you wonder how accurate/comprehensive these reports

jturner's input, assuming it's accurate, makes Tracy's play at the end all the more impressive. He made a mistake and determined to make amends for his team, more than made up for it with clutch steal, basket and thrilling victory.
