If Jereme Richmond wins Mr. Basketball, it will mark the first time since the last 1990s that Illinois recruits have been honored in back-to-back years.
Mr. Basketball at a glance
In less than a month, the 30th Mr. Basketball for the state of Illinois will be announced by the Chicago Tribune, which sponsors the award. Voting by state media and state coaches is done on a points system. Players receives five points for every first-place vote, three points for a second-place vote and one point for a third-place vote.
