Williams to miss another Jazz game
CLEVELAND — Utah point guard Deron Williams missed his second straight game Saturday night against Cleveland to deal with a family medical issue.
The former Illini star returned to Salt Lake City on Friday morning and missed Utah's game in Philadelphia. He said in a statement following the game that his daughter underwent a procedure on Thursday to "address some health concerns."
Williams averages 20.4 points and 9.9 assists. Utah, which concluded a four-game trip Saturday, returns home to play Toronto on Wednesday night and will play seven of its next eight games at home.
Jazz coach Jerry Sloan doesn't know when Williams will rejoin the team.
"If a guy has a problem at home, take care of that problem," Sloan said. "I let the player do what he thinks is best for him and his family."
