HOFFMAN ESTATES — Illini recruit Jereme Richmond had 16 points and 13 rebounds as Waukegan knocked off Glenbrook North 68-46 to advance to the Class 4A state tournament.
The Bulldogs will face Carpentersville at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Peoria. The other state semifinal features Whitney Young vs. Thornton at 8:15.
In the loss, Glenbrook North got 15 points from Austin Weber, Illinois coach Bruce Weber’s nephew.
Richmond’s halfcourt buzzer beater lifted the Bulldogs to the sectional title over Brandon Paul and Warren on Friday.
