Rogers in the running

Illinois senior Bob Rogers has been named a finalist for the Nissen-Emery Award, presented to the top collegiate senior gymnast each year.
Rogers, in his second season as co-captain, helped Illinois win its first Big Ten title since 1989. Heading into this weekend''s NCAA meet at the Assembly Hall, Rogers is ranked third in the country on pommel horse and No. 10 on floor.
The winner will be announced at a banquet Thursday at Urbana''s Holiday Inn.
