Stricker tees off at 1 p.m.

Former Illini Steve Stricker plays Ross McGowan at 1:02 p.m. (Champaign-Urbana) time Wednesday in the opening round of the WGC Match Play Championship.
The 64-player tournament is being played at Marana, Ariz.
The field is split into four, 16-player brackets. Stricker leads the Bobby Jones bracket. Top seeds in the other three are Martin Kaymer (Ben Hogan), Lee Westwood (Gary Player) and Jim Furyk (Sam Sneed).
Stricker is currently the No. 2 ranked golfer in the world behind Tiger Woods.
The winner of the Stricker-McGowan match faces the winner of Ryo Ishikawa-Michael Sim in the second round.
