UI golfers fall to 11th

COLUMBUS, Ohio – D.A. Points shot a 4-over-par 76 Friday during the second round of the NCAA Central Golf Regional as Illinois slipped to 11th in the team standings.

Points, who is tied for 31st, is at 148 heading into today's final round on the Scarlet Course.

Tim Riley carded a 75 Friday for the Illini, who are at 24-over-par 600 and trail 10th-place SMU by 1 stroke. The top 10 teams qualify for the NCAA Championships on June 2-5.

Minnesota, which opened with a 283, is at even-par 576 through two rounds. The Illini shot a 297 in Thursday's first round.
