Ex-Illini qualifies for Illinois Open

Former Illini Jim Buenzli has qualified for the Illinois Open in August. The McHenry native shot a 1-over-par 73 on Monday at Crystal Woods Golf Course in Woodstock.
In the same qualifier, two others with local ties failed to advance. Ex-Illini Scott Persin shot a 75, while former Parkland College golfer and Cissna Park native Kyle Bauer finished with a 78.
