Osei has new position: Tailback

Illinois quarterback Miles Osei is being tried out at a new position in advance of the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl on Dec. 31.

The sophomore practiced at tailback on Wednesday as interim coach Vic Koenning weighs his options at a position of need.

Jay Prosch (staph infection) will miss the bowl game and Jason Ford's status (academics) is unclear. That leaves Troy Pollard and Donovonn Young as the only scholarship tailbacks available to play against UCLA.

Osei, who has seen limited time at quarterback in two seasons,  also has been used as a kick returner.

In other news, senior Trulon Henry's cast has been removed, and he will try to practice when the team arrives in San Francisco. Henry has been out since getting shot in the arm during a late-night incident in November.

What about Green or Hawthorne both were good running backs or recievers in High School.

Also Osei might be able to throw some from the running back position-- even throw the ball back to  the Quaterback--ever who that might be????
