Mercilus named All-American

As he awaits word on his potential draft status from the NFL, Illinois defensive end Whitney Mercilus has earned a spot on one All-American team. With more likely to follow.

The national leader in sacks and forced fumbles, Mercilus has earned a spot on American Football Coaches Association team.

I hope the new HC coach can get Mercilus to stay one more year, but getting another DL into the NFL early is good, too.

Hire Coach Vic as the permanent head coach.  This player was developed under his system.  The defense did well this year.

was only a 2-star guy out of h school.  BTW  Buchanan wasn't that much better at a 3-


star
