Bleill: Why do teams stay in hotels the night before home games?

Like most college football programs, Ron Zook''s Illini spend the night before a home game at a local hotel. That's hogwash, HQ's Tony Bleill argues.

He makes some good points — and gets fired up doing so. Watch it here (second part).

Why do football teams spend the night before a home game? Because they can. The NCAA should bar this indefensible practice.

Seriously, have any of you tried to get a good night's sleep in a dorm room or campus apartment on a Friday night? You might as well march the team down to Kam's and ask them to sleep there. I lived in one of the mildest dorms on campus and people still didn't quiet down until 2 a.m. on a Friday night.
