For the second time this week, a former Illini football player has made a smart move and gotten himself to camp.
Ex-Illini offensive lineman Jon Asamoah signed a contract with the team on Thursday. A starter at guard for the Illini, Asamoah is expected to compete for early playing time.
Earlier in the week, second-round pick Arrelious Benn signed with Tampa Bay.
With the addition of Asamoah, the Chiefs have signed all of their draft picks except first-rounder Eric Berry. His signing could come soon.
The rebuilding Chiefs move back into renovated Arrowhead Stadium this season and will be featured on "Monday Night Football" during the opening weekend.
