Our take: Teitsma was a late addition and will come to the UI with little fanfare, but the Illini are getting a fighter. Teitsma competed in the Class 2A state wrestling meet as a heavyweight last year at the Assembly Hall and looks to be headed to state again in March with an undefeated record so far this season. Teitsma plans to redshirt next season and likely won't see the field much until he's an upperclassman, though Illinois is not deep at his position.

Why Illinois? "The great education and the ability to play Big Ten football."

Favorite moment in football: "Winning conference this year. It was the first time (Glenbard South) had done it in like 32 years."

Favorite football player, college or pro: "Brian Urlacher."

What school do you want to see the Big Ten add? "I'd like them to take Missouri."

College football playoff or BCS? "College football playoff. I like playoffs."

Hidden talent: "I'm a good basketball player. I wrestle now, but I'm a good basketball player."

Are you playing in the Missouri game? "I think I'll probably redshirt my first year."
What do you need to improve most before the start of the season? "Probably my speed."
