ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez says center David Molk, a former News-Gazette All-Stater from Lemont, is out for the season after tearing a ligament in his right knee against Penn State.
Rodriguez said Monday that Molk will not participate in spring drills because of the injury.
Molk returned to the lineup Saturday after missing four games with a broken foot.
The sophomore was a highly rated recruit who started every game last season as a redshirt freshman.
The Wolverines (5-3, 1-3 Big Ten) play this week at Illinois (1-6, 0-5) and need a win to become eligible for a bowl after losing three straight conference games.
