Ask Asmussen how recruiting's going by clicking here

Though you might hear about players reconsidering their commitments to the Illinois football team, Andy Gallik won't be one of those guys.

Chicago Brother Rice coach Steve Nye said Monday that his star offensive lineman remains firm with his commitment to Illinois.

"Andy committed, first and foremost, to the University of Illinois," Nye said. "That's the way he's thinking and that's the way he's thought all along. As long as Illinois feels the same way about him, which I know they said they have, he's committed to it."

Of course, recruits are concerned about the future of the program. But Ron Guenther's reassurance that Ron Zook will be the coach at Ilinois in 2010 helps with recruiting.

"Andy really likes Coach (Curt) Mallory and Coach (Ron) Zook," Nye said.
