Wednesday morning at Camp Rantoul

Twice a day — at noon and 5 p.m. — beat writer Bob Asmussen will check in with updates from Camp Rantoul. E-mail him questions at asmussen@news-gazette.com.

- Late morning rains caused the Illini to rethink their practice plans for today. With the forecast calling for showers later in the day, Ron Zook moved the session to 1:30. The session is scheduled to end at 4 p.m.

- The Big Ten Network crew changed its schedule this morning, moving its bus trip from Champaign to Rantoul up 90 minutes. Illinois is the seventh stop on an 11-school, 3,000-mile trip.

- No word yet on the status of Miami Thomas and Jack Cornell, who suffered leg injuries during Tuesday's practice. As soon as we know, you'll know.

- One-time Illinois recruit Kraig Appleton, a News-Gazette All-Stater from East St. Louis, is on the Wisconsin roster. According to a Wisconsin State Journal story, Appleton has missed some practice time with a hamstring injury. To read the report, click here.
