SAGGING IN SAGARIN:
Illinois is 112th in the latest computer ratings done by Jeff Sagarin, which appear each week in USA Today. That puts the Illini behind Division I-AA teams Western Illinois (86), Richmond (93), Youngstown State (97), William & Mary (101), Northeastern (103), Connecticut (107), Maine (108), Cal Poly SLO (110) and Stephen F. Austin (111). Indiana is the next closest Big Ten team at No. 83. Michigan is first among Big Ten schools in ninth, followed by Penn State (11), Ohio State (12), Michigan State (19) and Purdue (21).

SERIES HIGHLIGHT:
Illinois' last win over the Boilermakers came in the 1993 game at West Lafayette, Ind. Illinois quarterback Johnny Johnson threw three touchdown passes and running back Kevin Jackson had 125 yards in a 28-10 win. Illinois scored three touchdowns in third quarter for its first victory of the season.
