Big Ten honors Illinois pitcher

Tom Zidlicky, who won two games over the weekend during Illinois' series sweep at Minnesota, today was named Big Ten Conference Pitcher of the Week.
For the week, the junior left-hander allowed only one earned run in three appearances covering 12 1/3 innings. Zidlicky earned a victory in relief on Friday as Illinois defeated Minnesota 5-4 and pitched a nine-inning complete game on Sunday in a 9-4 triumph over the Gophers.
Zidlicky, 5-2, leads the UI pitching staff in victories.
