STILLWATER, Okla. – The No. 14 Illinois women's cross-country team earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships with a second-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships Saturday.

MINNEAPOLIS – Junior Kylie McCulley had a season-high-tying 22 kills and a career-high 22 digs, but No. 17 Minnesota defeated No. 16 Illinois 25-20, 21-25, 25-23, 21-25, 15-10 on Saturday night in Big Ten volleyball.
With the victory, the Gophers tied the Illini for second place in the league at 10-4.

CHAMPAIGN – As he welcomes the visitor into his Bielfeldt Building office, Mark Johnson knows the question is coming. He hears it every four years. Like clockwork, the timing coincides with the Summer Olympics.
The question is some version of "Are you bitter?" Johnson, with a straight face, answers "no." Every time.
