Ram, Anderson win at JSM Challenger (Monday, November 17, 2008)
URBANA – It was a homecoming to remember for a pair of former Illini tennis players this week. They made the return even sweeter on Sunday.
Seventh-seeded Kevin Anderson knocked off fifth-seeded Kevin Kim 6-3, 6-4 to earn his JSM Challenger championship. Anderson did not lose a set en route to the crown.

URBANA – Former Illini Kevin Anderson reached the finals of the JSM Challenger at Atkins Tennis Center with a 6-4, 7-6 (4) win against Wayne Odesnik on Saturday.
"I felt I was in it the whole time," Anderson said. "Even when I went down a break in the second, I immediately had break points. I just had to focus a little better and put it together. When he was serving for the set, I just really went after it."
Former Illini advances at JSM Challenger (Thursday, November 13, 2008)
URBANA – One former Illini moved on and another was eliminated Thursday at the JSM Challenger at Atkins Tennis Center.
Ex-Illini Kevin Anderson defeated Michael Russell 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the quarterfinals for the second time in the last three years.
Illinois feels right for White (Saturday, November 8, 2008)
DEERFIELD – Rachael White, the 10th-ranked high school senior in the nation, has orally committed to the Illinois women's tennis team.
The 2006 IHSA state singles champion selected the UI on Monday after making an official campus visit last weekend. White, who attends Deerfield High, said she also considered scholarship offers from Florida State, Arizona State, Clemson and North Carolina.
Gophers pull even with Illini in Big Ten (Saturday, November 8, 2008)
MINNEAPOLIS – Junior Kylie McCulley had a season-high-tying 22 kills and a career-high 22 digs, but No. 17 Minnesota defeated No. 16 Illinois 25-20, 21-25, 25-23, 21-25, 15-10 on Saturday night in Big Ten volleyball.
With the victory, the Gophers tied the Illini for second place in the league at 10-4.
Illini avoid roadblock (Saturday, November 8, 2008)
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa's volleyball team has been tough at home this season, but No. 16 Illinois solved the Hawkeyes on Friday night in a Big Ten match.
Coach Don Hardin's Illini rallied for a 20-25, 25-11, 25-23, 25-22 victory, their sixth in a row and ninth in 10 matches.

CHAMPAIGN – Ashley Edinger had 24 digs on her way to breaking the all-time Illinois record with 1,442 in the Illini's 25-18, 23-25, 25-21, 27-25 volleyball win against Ohio State on Saturday.
Edinger was chorused with a countdown to the record from the Huff Hall student section.
