MEN
TRACY ABRAMS (Mount Carmel) – scored nine of his 16 points in the fourth quarter of a 47-35 road win over St. Ignatius last Friday. On Tuesday, not even an errant fire alarm could stop Abrams from scoring 23 points as Mount Carmel (19-2, 9-0) rolled over St. Rita 79-56. The Caravan travel to Seton Academy Friday
NNANNA EGWU (Chicago St. Ignatius) – after scoring 12 points in the first half, Egwu was held to three second half points by an aggressive Mount Carmel man-to-man defense last Friday. He finished with 15 points and nine rebounds. The next night, he led all scorers with 22 points in a 58-50 loss to North Lawndale at the Whitney Young shootout. The Wolfpack host St. Francis DeSales Friday.
MEYERS LEONARD (Robinson) – went a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line last Friday as Robinson continued it's winning ways over Mount Zion 75-62. Leonard finished with 19 points, 13 rebounds and five blocked shots. At the Vandalia Shootout on Saturday, he led the Maroons with 17 points and ten rebounds, but Robinson fell to Harrisburg 71-49. Myers proceeded to drop 22 points on Newton in a 68-52 Apollo Conference win on Tuesday. The Maroons (20-8, 11-3) host Paris Friday.
JEREME RICHMOND (Waukegan) – returns from a one-game suspension tonight as the Bulldogs travel to New Trier.
CRANDALL HEAD (Rich South) – injured.
WOMEN
ALEXIS BURKE (Bainbridge, Ga.) – is on fire, scoring 29 points to lead Bainbridge to a 67-50 win over Lee County last Friday. She turned around the next night and scored 28 as the Cats (19-2) beat Cairo 66-47. She is currently rated as Georgia's top prospect by peachstatehoops.com and ESPNU rates her 50th in the class of 2010.
CENTRESE MCGEE (Thorton Fractional North) – The Meteors keep on rolling with wins over T.F. South and Oak Forest last week. Shepard comes in tonight, then T.F. North travels to Oak Lawn Tuesday.
