Offensive lineman
Cleveland Benedictine
6-5, 280
Our take: Cvijanovic (pronounced See-on-o-vich) ended a 113-day commitment drought for the Illini when he gave his oral pledge in December. Cvijanovic adds depth to the UI offensive line and can play at guard or tackle. He has a good frame (6-foot-5, 280 pounds) but needs to hit the weight room. Cvijanovic likely will redshirt and compete for playing time as an upperclassman.
Why Illinois? "Great atmosphere with the players and coaches. I like Coach Zook, and I really like Coach (Joe) Gilbert, my position coach."
Favorite moment in football: "Game day. Just the buildup, and obviously when you win the satisfaction you get from all the work that you've done."
Favorite football player, college or pro: "Cleveland Browns tackle Joe Thomas."
What school do you want to see the Big Ten add? "I'm not sure who would go well with the Big Ten. I think it's fine the way it is."
College football playoff or BCS? "I would like a playoff system. I just got the whole BCS bowl system explained to me by Coach Zook, and I finally understand it. It was confusing to me. I think a playoff system like college basketball would be a good way to do it."
What is your hidden talent? "I'm a good artist. I won an award for a drawing I did my sophomore year."
Are you playing in the Missouri game? "Not that I can see. I'm going to be redshirted, so I don't think Coach Gilbert is going to have a need for me on the offensive line this year."
What do you need to improve most before the start of the season? "Just getting my strength up and learning the offense, the new offense now that the new offensive coordinator is here."
