Former Illini Deron Williams came close to making his first NBA All-Star Game appearance last season.

This season, there's more incentive to break through. The game will be played in his hometown of Dallas.

Here's where his fans come in to play:

The Jazz is making an online push to get Williams voted into the game. The "I Am A Fan ... This Is My Pledge" promotion urges fans to vote for the point guard every day, either at nba.com or by texting  "Deron Williams" to 6-9-6-2-2.
