TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Junior All-American Angela Bizzarri is a known commodity, but the No. 17 Illinois women's cross-country team is getting valuable contributions from other runners.
UI senior Katie Engel finished third overall Saturday at the Pre-Nationals meet, clocking 20 minutes, 23 seconds in the 6-kilometer race. It was a personal best and the third-fastest 6K time in school history.

Q: How much playing time will Deron Williams get when the Jazz and Bulls play at the Assembly Hall?
A: Quite a bit. Williams played 24 minutes against the Lakers in the Jazz's preseason opener Thursday, and logic would suggest that he'll play at least that much against the Bulls, considering he's playing in front of UI fans. Let's face it: The Bulls are the home team and it's their game, but Williams is the draw. If he doesn't play much, there should be a riot at the Assembly Hall.

Zurrer earns pair of honors (Tuesday, October 7, 2008)
CHAMPAIGN — After leading the Illini soccer team to back-to-back shutout wins against Michigan State and Michigan, senior Emily Zurrer was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and earned Top Drawer Team of the Week honors.
Zurrer scored her third goal of the season in a 3-0 win against the Spartans and she anchored No. 21 Illinois’ defense in the 1-0 win against the Wolverines, who managed one shot on goal in the contest.
