Edinger hauls in another honor

CHAMPAIGN — Illinois libero Ashley Edinger was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week on Monday.

Edinger broke the Illinois career digs record Saturday in a win against Ohio State. The honor is her third in the last four weeks.

Sloan strong at Wolfdancer. Illinois freshman golfer Samantha Sloan fired a three-round 235 to tie for 24th place Monday at the Challenge at Wolfdancer in Austin, Texas.

As a team, the Illini finished 12th with help from Nancy Featherstone (239), Hailey Koschmann (246), Raquel Hoptpon (255) and Kaitlyn Wampler (265).
