Former Illini defensive tackle Moe Gardner is a College Football Hall of Fame candidate.

The National Football Foundation (NFF) announced Thursday 77 players and seven coaches who comprise the 2010 Football Bowl Subdivision Ballot for induction into the Hall of Fame.

Gardner was a two-time first-team All-America, the 1990 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and the 1989 Big Ten Lineman of the Year. A three-tile All-Big Ten selection, he set an Illinois career record with 57 tackles for loss.

Receiver David Williams was the last Illini to make it to the Hall of Fame, in 2005.

Moe had a 2nd and 3rd gear. He was of one many great players on the 1990 Illini team. Jeff George was the NFL NO. 1 PICK. Howard Griff. scored 8 touchdowns against S.Illinois. They won the Big Ten. Coach Mac had some studs! Moe should be in.
