Former Illini linebacker J Leman was placed on the Minnesota Vikings' active roster Tuesday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.
“It’s been a long, hard journey to get here, but it was worth it,” Leman said. “It definitely tested my faith, but God is good and faithful.”
It is Leman's first time on an active NFL roster during the season.
Backup linebacker Erin Henderson was suspended without pay for the Vikings' next four games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Henderson's suspension will begin immediately, and he will have to sit out the team's final regular season games against Carolina, Chicago and the New York Giants as well as the team's first playoff game.
