Congratulations to former Illini running back Walter Mendenhall, who signed a free agent deal Sunday night with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Turns out, the move to Illinois State for his final season was a good one for Mendenhall. At Illinois, he wouldn't have gotten as much playing time as he did with the Redbirds. Mendenhall showed the NFL he deserves a shot. Great to see he got it.

Kinda funny how things work out---isn't it? Here you have his brother all mad at Coach Zook and the U of I for not wanting him back for his last year---and he ends up leaving to go to ISU and it works out about as well as you could ever imagine....
