Former Illini gymnast Abie Grossfeld will be inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame. Grossfeld will be honored for his coaching achievements, including guiding the U.S. Olympic men's gymnastics team four times from 1964 to 1988. His 1984 squad  won the team competition and produced a pair of individual medalists.

Other inductees include the 1992 "Dream Team" basketball squad, Michael Johnson (track), Picabo Street (skiing), Peter Ueberroth (USOC chairman/contributor), Teresa Edwards (basketball), Mary T. Meagher (swimming), Willye White (athletics), Sarah Will (Paralympian) and Andrea Mead-Lawrence (veteran).

The honored formally will be announced Wednesday and inducted Aug. 12.
