News you can't leave work without:

We asked college football expert Phil Steele to break down the 2009 Illinois schedule. Here are some of his comments:
“Penn State had 18 returning starters this year and Illinois had to
play them on the road. I would estimate nine returning starters and since it is
at home as well, a MUCH easier game (for Illinois).
“Fresno State in place of UL-Lafayette. A tougher game but still in the winnable category. This was a veteran Fresno team this year.
“Michigan. I know that Michigan will be a much stronger team in the second
year of (Rich) Rodriguez.
“Minnesota on the road as opposed to at home. I count about four senior starters on this year’s Gopher squad. That means practically the entire team is back and it will be Year 3 for (Tim) Brewster.
“Ohio State. The Buckeyes will be wiped out by the NFL draft this year
especially on the defense. They do have (Terrelle) Pryor back and possibly (Chris) Wells and this goes from Champaign to Columbus.
“Northwestern. Here is another team that goes from 15 returning starters to
about 10 next year. Illinois goes from taking them on the road to at home.
Easier test in ’09.
“Wisconsin this year, Purdue next year. Purdue will be in the first year of a new head coach. This is a nice tradeoff.
“Indiana will have more returning starters and be healthier next year.
“Michigan State was fortunate to get its nine wins this year but will have a stronger team than the ’08 version next year.”
