ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Katie Engel and Angela Bizzarri led the Illinois women’s cross-country team to fourth at the Big Ten championships on Sunday and earned first-team all-conference honors. Engel finished sixth individually at 20 minutes, 48 seconds. Bizzarri was right behind in seventh at 20:52.
Stevens leads men’s squad. Illinois’ Jeremy Stevens ran a 25:32 in the men’s race to finish 38th individually. Colin Mickow (25:44.1) and Hunter Mickow (25:44.5) were 50th and 51st for the Illini, who finished ninth as a team.
Freshman Sloan on target. The Illinois women’s golf team is in 12th place after the second round of the Challenge at Wolfdancer in Austin, Texas, was suspended Sunday because of darkness. Illini freshman Samantha Sloan is tied for 28th individually. The round is scheduled to resume today.
