Pass rush and coverage looking soft as usual.
We need to do two things:
1. Stick our DBs in the WRs pockets. If we give up some long throws, so be it. At least we make them throw long;
2. Tell our DL and DE to PUSH IN, and stop trying to juke. If Iowa has to go for longer throws, then we'll put pressure on and start getting some picks.
Put the ball in our offense's hands, if we're going to lose at least let's make if fun!

Agree, the D once again looks very soft.

The D is soft because the players are soft and the 2 headed defensive coordinators are out of their leauge. Doesn't look like much of an offensive game plan either.

They need to hire a real D coordinator after this year. I know someone can use this talent better.

Mike Locksley is brain damaged.
Yes, throw the bomb on first down.
Then THROW IT AGAIN! But that's not written on his list of plays (like a mix tape- prerecorded), so he runs that retard quarterback draw.
Then he tries another one of those 15 yard passes that never works, unless thrown to Benn.
I want three plays, and three plays only, the rest of this game:
1. Bomb to tall recievers, 2 backs in protection- at least every other play;
2. TB dive option, Juice can keep it once in awhile;
3. Toss or short pass to TB around end.

No, there are only two plays
1.) pass
2.) juice runs because no one's open
our run game, or more precisely, Locks want to establish the run is puh-the-tic.

There's the short pass to the TB around end, would work great if the TB was used to it instead of freezing in shock for a second.

42 yard FG, down the middle- Eller could have made that from 55.
OK, now we just have to kick the ball at least 60 yards and then cover the kickoff.

Well I am guessing the same pass dropping receiving corps. 4 drops. All on very very catchable balls.

Norm Parker>>>>>our Spread. We need to either play some smash mouth with Ford and LeShoure, or run some misdirection and trickeration. Otherwise, we are going to lose by 16-13 or some other such stalemate.
Also, note to any high schoolers contemplating Illinois (and also Never-ready Freddy Sykes): if you can't catch hard-thrown passes go elsewhere.

Probably the boring one that wastes time with the Juice draw, Benn sweep, 8 yarders to fumble-fingers, and Tez backing up 8 yards so he can get in on the tackle.
I have an idea- blindfold and plug the ears of our coordinators, then tell them we're down two touchdowns.
We may not win any more, but at least we'd have something fun to watch.
Watching the way Juice is handled now is like watching Heidi Klum model a midshipmen outfit.

Seriously. Why does Locks all feel the need to run the ball consecutively until it's stopped? He's terrible with the play calling. After a successful run, don't keep running it. Throw in a play-action pass.
Right now Juice just needs to throw throw throw.

the worst is when they make that call when the defensive player clearly deliberately avoided making helmet-to-helmet contact, as Donsay did there.

Grateful, meaning, we will lose in the last 5 minutes of the game, as opposed to a good offense that would have us beat with 5 to go in the 3rd quarter?
Time for a huge Illini turnover to change this game. That would only be typical of this team, at home, this year.
