Okay, i'm not sure if it's becasue of our dismal football season, or just because I love me some CBB...but i'm sitting here in my apartment (downtown Chicago) getting ready to hang my Illini flag in the window because i'm freekin EXCITED!!!

It's here and i'm PUMPED.

So here's a no bashing, no re-hashing, no cheap shots, kick off our 2009-2010 Fighting Illini basketball season with some genuine excitement and gratitude for our team thread!

I hear you. Me too. I'm sure there will be growing pains as this year unfolds, but damn it's good to have basketball back again.

Isn't it good to have an illini team that can put some points on the board!

I'm excited about a lot of what was going on last night, one thing I was VERY surprised about was a little bit of skill with Bill Cole that we haven't seen in the past.

Paul was unreal, Richardson played great, the Mikes looked good at times, and Demetri showed an extra step we havent seen from him as an Illini.

Good things are coming, you just feel it with this team. No 39-33 games with this squad.

One of the nice things about those video clips is seeing the chief logo on the players uniforms/warmups and as the team logo on the Raycom scoreboard graphics. The good old days.
