Is Richmond's LOI in yet?

I'll breathe easier once it's in.

Congrats to Weber and the staff for a job well done. eusa_clap.gif

According to HQ:

QUOTE
Meyers Leonard told Paul Klee at 10:07 a.m. that he faxed his letter of intent to Illinois.

Crandall Head told Klee at 10:27 a.m. that he faxed his letter of intent to Illinois.

Jereme Richmond told Klee at 10:42 a.m. that he faxed his letter of intent to Illinois.

It's official! Good stuff. Not that I had any doubt, but it is just nice to know that the LOI's are in.

Here's to the beginning of some great years for Illini basketball (starting with this team)...
TheOlafRules
Yes. Jerrance confirmed on Twitter.
illinois79
Awesome news about Jereme. As Klee pointed out, this means the Richmonds kept their word, 3 years after an oral commitment. Refreshing. Great to see that kind of "Illinois loyalty."
SFJon
Great news. Whew.
Orangeburger
Are we insecure, or what?

Congrats to all.

I have gotten past the whole Gordon thing and really hate to see it brought up especially on the Illiniboard. Let by gones be by gones and move on.

I agree, but the article headline (I didn't make it up) is funny as hell. PLus, he has 9 more years of bad karma. smile.gif

I guess you are right. I do enjoy his misfortunes. I hope they never end.

He was 18 years old when he made the choice. He probably didn't even make the choice, so the issues anybody STILL has are probably misdirected.

He played one year, shot the ball all the time, they played in one NCAA tournament game and lost, he left, their coach go fired, their program was left for dead, Weber did get jammed, but in the end, he came out on top, the better man, the better program....without cheating.

Gordon got to the NBA, which is all he ever wanted. One and done. Period. He got what he wanted and Indiana got what they deserved.

SO, if there was ever a situation that worked out for everybody involved, this was it.

With these recruiting classes and the outlook of the program...who really cares about Eric Gordon. I would be more worried about Tom Crean and the talent he is bringing in. They will be a force to be reckoned with in the next few years and Eric Gordon will be 4 years removed from that team.

It's over. I don't even think anybody involved in the situation is around anymore. Let him make his millions like he was going to do after one year of college, shooting the ball every time he had it anyway.

Tom Crean has had one good class at Indiana. I'm going to have to see a lot more than what he's brought in for '10 and '11 before I'll call them a force to be reckoned with. What are they looking like at best for the '10-'11 season? 6th in the Big Ten?

This is only his 2nd year and he's only had one year to recruit. His first one,he cleaned out was dealt a glorifed HS team. He did the job at Marquette(more than did the job)and TO AN EXTENT, Indiana does sell itself.

Maybe it's just a hunch, but I would expect them to consistently be in the top 4 before too long.

I don't know what this means. If it's sarcastic...is it funny? I seriously don't know what this means.

I'm all for laughing if this is something funny, but right now...I'm not understanding the response to the post????

It was a non sequitur juxtaposition of memes, attempting to approximate the integral of the density of the anti-coincident flux field vis a vis this board's quantum position with respect to Eric Gordon. It is possible that my assumed jocularity constant was off by possibly up to an order of magnitude.

We apologise for the inconvenience.

The word "groin" appearing in a headline is funny, I don't care who you are.

Tom Izzo has "done the job" at his current school.

Bruce Weber has "done the job" at his current school.

Thad Matta has "done the job" at his current school.

Tubby Smith has "done the job"

John Beilein has "done the job" (and at a much tougher school than Marquette)

What makes Tom Crean this unstoppable force, but not the 5 coaches listed above? (And that's not even including a coach who has taken Wisconsin to the tournament every year he's been there, or a coach who took an awful Purdue team and turned it into a final 4 contender.)

Indiana hasn't "sold itself" in damn near 20 years. Unless you want a team full of Daniel Moores, you're going to need more than "It's Indiana!"

I was watching the Clippers game last night and he was interviewed. It was wierd seeing him older and hearing his voice. Sampson I hate. I don't hate Gordon. I just wish he could have found it in himself to apologize to us.

"Gordon's Groin". Is that anything like Occam's Razor?

Gordon's Groin = Totally shafted?
Bahgoon
Apropos to nothing (who, me?) there was an old timey baseball manager (might have been Whitey Herzog, but I wouldn't swear to it) who couldn't pronounce 'groin'. Every spring you hoped for a newby interviewer so you could get a conversation like this.

Q: So, are you going to get XXX some playing time today?
A: No, he's got a little groan.
Q: A groan?
A: Yeah, a sore groan. You know, a groan pool.

So nowadays whenever I read the word groin, the voice inside my head (OK, one of the voices) hears it as 'groan pool', thereby doubling my amusement for the same price.
