The U.S. Army is financing a new research center at the University of Illinois to develop technology for computer networks used on battlefields and in other similarly difficult environments.

The university says the Army will spend $16.75 million to set up the new Information Network Academic Research Center.

Good news, looks like some more money coming into the school for some very important technology research.

And we all know how difficult an environment Green Street can be.

But seriously, the great thing about technology investments like this is how they both reflect and perpetuate faculty excellence, which in turn reflects and perpetuates graduate student excellence and lead to better opportunities all up and down the ol' academic and technology food chains.

Some may have a problem with funding source, but I have no qualms.
