on Healthcare, this thing will be a disaster even before the House makes it worse.

The first three years no benefits will be paid out but the taxes will be collected so it can look

more reasonable than it really is. This thing will bust your budget and our (the U.S) budget.

http://townhall.com/news/politics-election...lp_cover_94_pct

"But the middle-of-the-road plan still leaves about 25 million people uninsured when fully phased in, in 2019. Of those, nearly 17 million would be U.S. citizens or legal residents."

What happened to "Healthcare for Everyone"? And who are those other 8 million^^^ Illegals??

Don't kid yourself they will get covered too which proves Wilson was right, BO was lying.

2019??? TEN YEARS from now?

I don't agree with Wilson shouting "you lie" but he was correct.

BO is completely overwhelmed and that should not surprise anyone.

My mistake its the first 5 years of paying with no benefits going out.

Viewed another way, it gives the government time to rescue themselves . . . from themselves.

Or for someone to get elected on the platform of "Stop Health Care Reform Dead in its Tracks."

Be interesting to see how it plays out.

One thing is clear -- while Senate finance committee funds part of the bill with taxes on insurers, while the house version has the "wealthy" paying -- both have tax increases as part of their way to pay for it.

Seems the government hasn't figured out that when you raise taxes on people who make their living off of capitated charges (per person per time period, like insurers, utilities, cable TV), we all pay for it; while when you raise taxes on the wealth in this country, who by and large are business owners, we also all pay for it.

The notion that there is this magic thing called "taxation" that can be allocated to and borne by one segment of population or entity in an economic system is by far and away the largest fallacy ever promoted by government. Sooner or later, we all pay a share. And just look around the country at various federal, state and municipal entities' fiscal condition to see how tax-based schemes work when the economy hits the crapper.

I believe that I heard that 60% of the tax increases will fall on those making under 200,000.

The Party of Bush 43 has no credibility on anything. On war,the economy, healthcare or anything that involves judgement. Sorry guys but you blew it! Gonna have to wait your turn to be heard!

Oh, we'll be heard. Just wait until next Tuesday.

And that is only the beginning of what will be a very long few years (if not more) for you libs. When the VA governorship is won by a margin of nearly 20%, there will be a political earthquake. Just watch.

Sounds like a threat...

Political earthquake I highly doubt, makes serious headlines though for sure. What will it 'change'? In reality all it does is add to a ridiculous bi-partisan #$%&@! throwing contest that leads to nothing getting accomplished.

BO is dealing with issues that stemmed from the EPIC FAIL that was left by the previous admin on numerous fronts, including fighting a war (that cost us over 500 Billion easily during W's tenure) that we had no business fighting. Now Afghanistan is the 'new Iraq' because we left it just like we left Iraq after we 'won the war' there.

We have real issues here at home that have been ignored for far too long, and instead of working on ways to fix them, righties and lefties would rather block each other from accomplishing anything. Gotta love politics.

You are correct sir. In my view, our only way out of this mess is to have a legitimate third political party. Think of it, for every issue there are two sides and, naturally, the lefties and righties will fall on either side and we just end up with shouting matches and town halls and tea parties. A third party with representation actually forces people to look at things differently because just voting the party line doesn't automatically get things passed anymore. I think many times both parties will vote against a bill or proposal that will be good for the majority of people simply because it is not sponsored by their party. Over the years, I've leaned right some times and left others; and it usually coincided with whomever wasn't in power. Neither party seizes the moment when they're in power. Don't kid yourself, NEITHER party has done anything to earn your loyalty.

And the Dems now have power and they will blow it.

It's a perpetual spin cycle. And it won't ever end.

Wait your turn to be heard? What country are you living in? Very poor choice of words.

This makes me absolutely sick.

If you are going to blame GWB for a $500 Billion mistake, where, WHERE is the outrage over the $2 Trillion Obama has spent or is proposing on Stimulus, Bailouts, health care?

If you call it an "EPIC FAIL" and capitalize it for GWB, there isn't a font size big enough or a bold type dark enough to put the same tag on Obama.

Let me guess your take about "issues at home that have been ignored for far too long." My guess is that it's the same old health care, education, jobs, blah, blah, blah. I know, let's go give all of our money to the corrupt unions/politicians and let them fix the problems.

Ever ask yourself why every problem is a "spending" problem for democrats/liberals?

Speaking of Nancy Pelosi and her cohorts, what if they don't care if they get reelected? Maybe they know they'll be taken care of if they get health care, Cap and Trade, etc into law.

"Everything we know about these people suggests that they are single-minded fanatics with basically only one game plan, which is to consolidate as much power as possible as quickly as possible. Everything flows from that. In Europe, the socialists have insulated themselves from elections. That's how they can do outrageous things time and time again and still stay in power."

Yes, I went to Ilman's source, and I don't care who knows it.

Given this analysis, defeating the bill may be hopeless:

http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=YzYxN...OTI=&w=MA==

"Thursday brought block-long lines of anti-Obamacare protesters to all entrances of the House office buildings, an intimidating sight. But it may not be intimidating enough. Given the choice of passing a bill and between losing their seats, or not passing a bill and losing their seats, most House Democrats would pick the former. Many of them will approach the coming vote as men and women with not much left to lose."

And as unemployment is marching above 10%, a terrorist nutjob just butchered a dozen soldiers at Fort Hood and Obama is doing absolutely nothing about the needs in Afghanistan, it's a perfect time for:

QUOTE
"Today, Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee Dave Camp (R-MI) released a letter from the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) confirming that the failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi health care bill (H.R. 3962, as amended) could land people in jail. The JCT letter makes clear that Americans who do not maintain “acceptable health insurance coverage” and who choose not to pay the bill’s new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years."

Not only are the feds going to make people buy a crappy health care coverage but they'll ultimately throw you in jail if you refuse.

The Dems had to resort to a sneaky Saturday vote to pass their health care bill.

Cowards, all of them. Stand up to the 60% of people who do not want socialized medicine and vote on a weekday. Hopefully, this just galvanizes people to throw all of these people (from both parties) out of government and start over.

John Dingall (sp?) is a case in point. He's been in Congress since 1955. My dad was five years old then! What real-world experience does he have that can help him in government? We need people in public service who actually know what it's like in the real world so the people actually have a real voice in our government.

Bless you for your post, son. You have now confirmed that I'm old enough to be your father.

I wasn't sure if my earlier post of the Richie Havens' Youtube song "Freedom" was appropriate. On second thought, he was singing the song in the context of a government running amok agaist the will of the people.

Apropos.
