I just started watching, what did Hawthorne do? Hawthorne made the biggest individual play I have seen from an Illini in YEARS. On a 3rd and 8 early in the 3rd, Forcier found a WR wide open and he ran straight down the middle of the field, headed for the end zone. Hawthorne caught him from behind, catching up from 10 yards behind. He tackled the guy on the 1; The Illini D held on 4 downs inside the 1 and then we go 99 2/3rd yards to take the lead. The rest is history. |
