What are the dates and times of the Bruce Weber tv and radio shows(Regualar and Cable times Please)?
Loren Tate (moderator) — 11:07 AM on Mon, 11/23/2009
Glen, we'll check with Brian Barnhart and Ed Bond ... radio starts the first Monday in December at 7 p.m., and will run Mondays with a few exceptions. We aren't clear on the TV show. We'll know more later. Jim and Loren
Brian from Urbana, IL — 11:07 AM on Mon, 11/23/2009
Tate,
you going to Vegas or Cincinatti this weekend?
Loren Tate (moderator) — 11:07 AM on Mon, 11/23/2009
Brian, me go Vegas. Loren
Dr. Phil from Orland Park, IL — 11:07 AM on Mon, 11/23/2009
My question is for Mr. Turpin. Your blog on Juice was very good. One item in the blog was particularly interesting to me. It is when you wrote about the "silliest schedule." Please explain. Is it because the schedule is difficult or with the breaks, not timely? Whose to blame for its silliness - Zook, Guenther, Bob Blackman?
Loren Tate (moderator) — 11:09 AM on Mon, 11/23/2009
Dr. Phil -- The season was silly in many respects, not the least of which is playing two non-conference games at the end. Also the open date prior to the Ohio State game wasn't a good idea. Zook wanted the open date in September, and Guenther was responsible for the remainder of the schedule. Jim

Gentlemen, I'm looking for a media outlet to listen to my Unity Rockets play this Friday in the 3A Title game. Perhaps an online streaming form, etc. I live out in Arizona. I graduated from Unity in 1983. Maybe my old little league teammante and school classmate Brian Barnhart may know :)
thank you, Vince

Vince: Sorry, we can't help you. You might try calling the school. Jim and Loren
Jim from Champaign, IL — 11:10 AM on Mon, 11/23/2009
Loren, Jimmie, time to man up. Give us your prediction: how is Illinois going to finish the season? Do they win either game?
Loren Tate (moderator) — 11:11 AM on Mon, 11/23/2009
Jim, this is Loren, I have no prediction. This is Jim, there is no chance to beat Cincinnati, and the Fresno State game is probably a tossup.
Flight Fan from Champaign, Illinois — 11:12 AM on Mon, 11/23/2009
Loren, LOVE the chats. Just an FYI, I'm heading to the Cincinnati game this weekend and plan on leaving after the flyover. My question is this: What have you heard about what kind of aircraft we can expect? Also, I saw in the NCAA bylaws that one time a season, the visiting team can request that the home team avert their eyes so that the visitors can be the lone team pumped up by the power and glory of the flyover. Up to this point, has Illinois used up its one-time allowance? Any chance they'll request the Bearcats don't look at the flyover? I really think that the ranking and skill won't matter if the Illini are the only people looking toward the sky as the jets zoom by. Thoughts?
Loren Tate (moderator) — 11:13 AM on Mon, 11/23/2009
Flight Fan, the humming birds left in convoy last week from Champaign and will be in Cincinnati in time for the flyover, unless there is a strong wind from the east. That's all we know. Jim and Loren
Doug from Mattoon, IL — 11:14 AM on Mon, 11/23/2009
With the large number of assists in the first few games, what are your thoughts about the chemistry of this team?
McCamey sat out quite a bit in the second half. Was this because they were up by 30, or something else? How is his chemistry with Weber?
Loren Tate (moderator) — 11:16 AM on Mon, 11/23/2009
Doug, nobody played much in that game. Tisdale had 14 minutes, McCamey 15, Davis 20, Paul 21. It is one of the few games EVER where the reserves played more minutes than the starters, and scored more points, 49 to 45. Yes, the chemistry appears good. Weber has always used the spurs on McCamey and will always do so. They are different mental types. Jim and LOren
Stan from Lynwood, Illinois — 11:17 AM on Mon, 11/23/2009
I,m ok with giving Coach Zook another year but I do feel Defense wins Championships. What are the chances that Coach Zook brings in a proven Defensive Coordinator or even someone from the NFL ?
Loren Tate (moderator) — 11:18 AM on Mon, 11/23/2009
Stan, we believe that it is fair to speculate that the co-coordinator system will end, and Zook will bring in someone from somewhere. But any hotshot defensive coordinator would have to look carefully at the situation. And don't forget that Zook is basically in charge of the defense. Jim and Loren

What are your choices for the best Illini basketball game of the last 20 years? The obvious answers seem to be the Arizona game in '05, Kaufman's shot vs Iowa and Nick Anderson's shot vs IU..but I was hoping u guys were captivated by other games...thanks
Loren Tate (moderator) — 11:20 AM on Mon, 11/23/2009
Adam, you just named three of the top games, although you're leaving out the two games in Minneapolis in 1989 ... when Illinois beat Louisville and Syracuse with all those future pros. Jim and Loren
Bill from Pekin, Il — 11:20 AM on Mon, 11/23/2009
Our football offensive cord. is from Texas. Are we going to get any recruites from the Texas area this year.
Loren Tate (moderator) — 11:21 AM on Mon, 11/23/2009
Bill, with only nine committed, and several of those questionable, we're beginning to wonder. We're not hearing any good news from Texas, and it isn't clear whether Mike Schultz will be back either. Jim and Loren
